If you’re an elite sportsperson and decide to study a degree at the University of Greenwich, you could win a scholarship named after our Olympic gold medal-winning alumna, Ann Packer.

The Ann Packer Sports Scholarships provide up to £3,500 (plus up to £500 in support services) per year for full-time students.

Scholarship holders will be paid in two instalments throughout the year. Continued support in further years is conditional upon evidence of sustained high performance.

Am I eligible?

You will need to meet the following criteria to be considered for the Ann Packer Sports Scholarship.

  • You are a new full-time undergraduate starting in 2022/23.

  • You have selected the University of Greenwich as a 'Firm' choice via UCAS.

  • You'll be entering Year 0/1 of a FdA, BA, BEd, BSc, LLB, BEng, MEng or MMath course at one of our three main campuses: Greenwich, Avery Hill or Medway.

  • You are a high-performing sportsperson who competes at county level or higher.

Priority will be given to applications from the following sports:

  • American football

  • athletics

  • badminton

  • basketball

  • swimming

  • table-tennis

  • netball
