Overview
The University of Dundee was founded in 1881 and has developed a significant reputation for students entering the traditional professions, most notably law, medicine and dentistry as well as emerging areas such as life sciences. The Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design one of the UK’s top rated art schools, while the University of Dundee School of Medicine is ranked in the top five in the UK.
Based in and around the city of Dundee on the central east coast of Scotland, a focus on vocational and professional degrees means that Dundee scores well in terms of graduate employment and only Oxbridge graduates have higher average starting salaries.
Dundee has scored highly in terms of student satisfaction in recent years and lots of degrees at the University include a career planning and internship option, with students given their own personal development website to work within.

According to the Complete University Guide 2020, The University of Dundee is top in the United Kingdom for Forensic Science in the 2020 edition of the Complete University Guide. This caps a strong performance across our wider life and medical sciences with the University in the UK top five for Dentistry (2nd), Anatomy (4th), Biological Sciences (4th) and Medicine (5th).
Dundee is also in the UK top ten for Education (7th), Medical Technology (9th) and Law (10th).
In the overall table, Dundee maintained our position at 31st after strong rises over the past five years.

Global Excellence Scholarship
- Taught Postgraduate - £5,000 towards tuition fees (entry year only)
- Undergraduate - Up to £25,000 towards tuition fees (£5,000 a year)
Boyack Bursary
- Value varies – to go towards living costs. This award is for continuing Undergraduate 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students
Saltire Scholarship
- £8,000 towards tuition fees - only available for application to those on Taught Postgraduate degree pathways

- Self-catering and consists of single bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom, and shared kitchen/dining area
- £125.09 - £157.13 a week for campus accommodation; private rents 20% cheaper than Scottish average
Course fees
- Classroom Based Courses - £18150 per year
- Lab Based Courses - £21,950 per year
- Medicine MBChB - £43,000 including £10,000 ACT levy
- Dentistry BDS - £32,365 for Level 1, £44,650 per year for all additional years of study
